What motivated you to join the Fitness for Life development team?
Having worked with a lot of the members of the fitness for life team before I was really excited to work with him further on developing resources that I felt were relevant meaningful and empowering for young people with cerebral palsy.
What do you hope the impact of this resource will be for other young adults with cerebral palsy?
My hope is that this resource can be used by young people with cerebral palsy in a way that works best for them. We have put in a lot of effort to design the resource in a way that works for a lot of different people and can be empowering for people who have different thoughts feelings reflections and journeys when it comes to physical activity. I hope that it's useful for them and I know that I found it useful for myself!
What is your favourite physical activity to participate in at the moment, and why?
It's hard for me to choose a favourite activity since it changes from day to day! Lately, I've been spending a lot of time on the MOTOmed, which is essentially an exercise bike with power assist. I also love shadow boxing with my friend at the gym.
Recently, I've been doing lots of floor work, getting down on the floor for stretches and movement. There's something so enjoyable about spending time on the floor, even though it's probably not fundamentally different from doing the same exercises on a plinth. As someone who can't get on the floor independently, being able to be on the floor and spend time moving around feels like a lot of fun!
