About us
Meet the team behind the Fitness for Life Guide!
Our Vision
We envision inclusive communities that welcome and support adults with cerebral palsy to engage in diverse physical activities they love—providing supportive environments where individuals gain confidence and skills for meaningful participation.
Who was involved?
About Our Team
The Fitness for Life guide was created by young adults with cerebral palsy working together with parents of young adults with cerebral palsy, physiotherapists, and researchers.
Every part of this guide was shaped by the people who will use it, combining research knowledge with real-life experience.
Research Team
Researchers and young adults with cerebral palsy provided feedback and asked important questions throughout the project to make sure the guide would work well in real life.
Project Coordination Team
This small team handled the day-to-day work of creating the guide, including building this website and making sure young people with cerebral palsy stayed at the center of all decisions.
Working Group
This was the heart of our project - young adults with cerebral palsy, parents, physiotherapists, and researchers working as equal partners. The Working Group decided what topics to include, how the guide should look, and what was most important to include. Young people with CP led these discussions and helped write the content, making sure the guide reflects what they actually need and want.

Photography
We express our heartfelt thanks to photographer Michaela Fernando, whose exceptional photography, and integration of her own lived experience of cerebral palsy, has brought to life this work.
Michaela’s care for detail, ability to capture fleeting moments, and skill in putting those behind the camera at ease shines through in every photo!
