What motivated you to join the Fitness for Life development team?

I was keen to help to build a resource that meets such an important need- helping people with CP to be physically active as young adults. This is not only life changing for health and life expectancy but makes a huge difference to every aspect of people’s lives like how they can move around and function in every day tasks, how they can participate in things and be included in communities and social aspects that they wouldn’t have otherwise had access to. I love seeing people build their confidence and independence after being engaged in regular physical activity.

What do you hope the impact of this resource will be for young adults with cerebral palsy?

To reduce barriers and help people to take the first step to being active and then troubleshoot some of the challenges that can come up along the way and reap the rewards of physical activity and feeling great being stronger and feeling better after physical activity!

What is your favourite physical activity to participate in at the moment, and why?

Just one is tough! I love being in water, also riding my bike, walking / hiking, team sports. I do love the gym and that it’s always there anytime, no need to worry about the weather.
